This collection of artworks is taken from a joint exhibition Tony held in Münster with the Norwegian artist Bjørn Aurebekk from Kristiansand, which is twinned with Münster.
Tony had been invited to look around the backstage of the theatre by two members of one of his drawing courses. The title ‘Backdrops’, is taken from the painted curtains and screens at the rear of a stage set, while most of Tony’s contribution to the exhibition is based on the ‘blocks’ used to make head pieces for the actors, plus some of the detritus of the theatre workshops.
